On Thursday, 31 March 2022 I will be taking part in a Zoom event celebrating the re-publication of Jill Paton Walsh’s children’s novel, A Parcel of Patterns.
My recent news updates.
I’m pleased to be one of the judges for the War Through Children’s Eyes art and writing competition for children.
My sense of place is explored in the latest issue of the beautifully produced Hope Valley Journal, ‘a celebration of people and places’.
Find out who won the Sheffield Novel Slam 2021, for which I was one of the five judges.
I am honoured to appear in 10-year old Jack Heywood’s book, ‘Authors Uncovered: Britain’s Favourite Children’s Authors’, among some very distinguished authors indeed!
This month I contributed guest posts to Brian Moses’ poetry blog, Writers Review, where I reviewed Kate Grenville’s ‘A Room Made of Leaves’, and the South Yorkshire NHS website.
My lovely new website features lots of new background information, teaching material and suggestions for creative writing. I hope you’ll enjoy exploring it!
I’m full of admiration for the way teachers have kept things going under really difficult conditions, not least by using video conferencing to bring the classroom into children’s homes.
A very pleasant thing I’ll be doing next month is helping to judge the Platform 5 Poetry Competition, organised by the Sheaf and Porter Rivers Trust in Sheffield.
